È-êyë Dêtîkè (/è/ /ˈɘjë/ [canned (food)] [elevator]) is a temperate Town located in the Qíithtathê Zone of the Union of Engineers.
The name È-êyë Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as È-êyë Dêtîkè was founded by Hèshî Êmêv, who was culturaly Iron Elven.
Climate
È-êyë Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). È-êyë Dêtîkè receives an average of 247 cm/y (97 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. È-êyë Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 1256 m (4120 ft) above sea level.
Overview
È-êyë Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 13th century in summer of the year 1203, by Hèshî Êmêv. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Hèshî Êmêv.
È-êyë Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and È-êyë Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.
È-êyë Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged arround a network of restrictive gravel streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town lacks any defencive features, though certainly constructing even a simple fence or digging a ditch is at the forefront of the 's mind. At least, one would hope so.
A look around È-êyë Dêtîkè makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had. Everyone quietly goes about their daily business not looking anyone in the eye.
Civic Infrastructure
È-êyë Dêtîkè has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.
È-êyë Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within È-êyë Dêtîkè.
È-êyë Dêtîkè has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
È-êyë Dêtîkè has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
È-êyë Dêtîkè has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
È-êyë Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain È-êyë Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
È-êyë Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
È-êyë Dêtîkè has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.
È-êyë Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
È-êyë Dêtîkè is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.
Cultural Notes
È-êyë Dêtîkè's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is admittedly strange and non-linear style rooted in defiance of symmetrical shapes. It championed the creation of buildings with a unique visual appearance. the structural norms of classic buildings and deforms or moves away from elementary architectural principles. By including non-linear designs processed into its buildings and favoring fragmentation, this style expressed a form of controlled chaos. Its buildings appear out-of-the-ordinary, draw the eye in immediately and sometimes create a feeling of strangeness. These distorted shapes and structure are not reserved to the building’s outer facade, they destabilize interior elements too, favoring minimalism and play on people’s perceptions by injecting a futuristic touch.
In È-êyë Dêtîkè every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.
The Dlurgraven near È-êyë Dêtîkè are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.
È-êyë Dêtîkè's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves bloodletting to channel Necromancy energies of tier 3 via speaking in tongues.
Economy
